Circle of Security Classroom Approach

The Circle of Security Classroom Approach (COSP) is a gold standard program based on decades of research that focuses on relationship-based strategies to improve academic, emotional, and behavioral outcomes in children. It has received global recognition for its effectiveness and success in affecting lifelong change for caregivers and children.

The Circle of Security Educators Program is a comprehensive professional development program for early childhood educators who want to learn more about attachment theory and how to create secure relationships with the children in their care.

This is the course that I wish I had when I started working with children and their families, it is a solid base for understanding behaviour and children’s motivation.

Workshops

Simplifying Childhood offers a range of workshops centred on improving the learning outcomes for children through play and relationships. These one off workshops can be adapted to suit your educational setting, offered both online or in-person in the Brisbane, Logan, Redlands and Ipswich regions.

Topics include:

  • Loose Parts Play - This Loose Parts Workshop will explore various ways to use loose parts, expand your understanding, and set you and your children up for success with these materials.

  • Raising respectfully - Building relationships with our children based on respect and trust, can be a daunting shift in power dynamics and navigating this space requires a new toolkit.

  • Planning for Play Schemas - Observing and planning for play schemas focusing on "how" children play. This workshop changes the perspective on child play and behaviour.

  • Child Voice - In listening to our children, we can drive a path for a new future, but how do we give them a voice in a world that isn't made for our littlest learners?

Having Tiffany speak to many mum groups at Parent Spot with bubs 0-3 years old was such a gift! She tailored each presentation to have such practical and helpful information for that age range. She set up such an engaging, interactive area so the babies could experience first hand everything she was sharing. The mums walked away with valuable knowledge about the importance of play and doable ways to make it happen in their own homes. She also included tips for us mums on the different types of play and our roles in each! Definitely one of the best speakers in groups this term!
